Winter Squash & FlowersThe autumn is in full swing, just shy of when the snow flies in the North and brings us winter chills.  I love this time of year.  And I love this holiday.  I want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving offers us the opportunity to reflect on our blessings, to share our bounty with others and just have a rip-roaring good time with friends and family.  And of course, to eat!  I will be posting several sides, and options for leftovers, this week.  But, I thought I might just tweak your memory from past Thanksgiving posts.  The Goddess’s personal favorite thing on the Thanksgiving table is cranberry relish.  TheSpicy Clementine-Cranberry Relish Clementine-Cranberry Relish, is a terrific non-traditional, traditional side.  It’s so good.  It’s good enough to be dessert…over good vanilla ice cream and for breakfast, too.  Hey, it’s fruit, isn’t it?  Yes, The Goddess has happily waltzed down those roads many times!

You want to make Holiday Mashed Potatoes with Horseradish & Charred Onions,Horseradish Mashed Potatoes with Charred OnionsMashed Potato Perfection and of course, Turkey Gravy.  For the sweeter side of potatoes, you might want to try Scalloped Sweet Potatoes.  Thankfully, Brussels sprouts have become synonymous with Thanksgiving.  I just recently posted Sautéed Brussels Sprouts with Onion, Garlic, Apples and Cranberries or Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Grapes and Marcona AlmondsRoasted Brussels Sprouts & Grapes with Toasted Marcona Almonds.  There’s also Scalloped Corn, Hasselback Carrots with Crispy Crumb ToppingHasselback Carrots with Seasoned Bread Crumbs, and Winter Squash au Gratin Supreme,as a change of pace.

For stuffing, try Savory Cornbread Stuffing with Fennel, Leeks and Mushrooms, Bread Stuffing with Leeks, Celery and Herbs with Browned ButterBread Stuffing with Leeks, Celery and Herbs with Browned Butter.  Remember, you can toss some oysters into either stuffing, for an Oyster Stuffing.

And let’s not forget dessert…no, never forget dessert!  For many of us, Thanksgiving is about pie.  So make your pie crust today, using the Pie Crust Perfection!.  There’s the Cider-Bourbon Caramel Apple Pie, Rustic Apple-Pear TartRustic Bourbon-Spiced Pear & Apple Tart or Spiced Caramel-Apple Pie.

Then we have leftovers…yummy, yummy leftovers.  Make our sandwiches, but don’t forget there are other options:  Try Turkey Pot Pie with Stuffing CrustTurkey Pot Pie with a Stuffing Crust, Turkey Pot Pie Enchiladas, or Turkey in Alfredo Sauce for pasta.

And there’s little that’s better than Perfect Cornbread.  Everyone loves it and this is a moist, tender and delicious version.

These are just a few of our favorite dishes that we wish to share with you and yours.  Enjoy each other.  Listen to each other.  Love each other and have a Happy, Happy Thanksgiving.
