042 - CopyIt’s all about the sauce.  And this is a fantastic version, the Russian Sable of Fudge Sauces.  This is THE Fudge Sauce.  Okay, so you get that it’s really good, right?  The Flying Librarian makes a hot fudge that may, may be even better than this, but she refuses to give me the recipe…some nonsense about swearing on her son’s life, so she won’t give out the recipe.  Sometimes you just have to take the risk.  It’s fudge sauce.  Is she kidding?  Continue reading →

This is the dessert for dessert lovers!  It’s oozy, boozy and decadently rich.  This is the perfect dessert for a casual get together with 10 of your closest friends, but it will easily serve 16 people.  You’ll want leftovers.  After everyone leaves, late at night, one plate with 2 forks…where you go from there is up to you…. 129We had a terrific weekend.  Our son and daughter-in-law and her family shared their time with us.  They are great people and incredibly fun to spend time with. I made this dessert, as Jessica loves cake and she seems to have a soft spot for homemade vanilla ice cream (and for our son, The Middle Child).  This is the perfect dessert for this time of year.  It’s served warm, plus you have the warm glow from the bourbon (or rum, Cointreau, brandy, etc…whatever floats your lusty, boozy, dessert-boat!) to keep the chilly wind at bay.  Continue reading →
