I’ve been thinking about Greek flavors recently. Who knows why? Maybe it’s the warm weather. Those flavors—oregano, lemon, garlic, just seem so say, “Summer is here”. And salmon is the perfect foil for these flavors. Continue reading
Tzatziki (zat-ZEE-key) is truly summer. Oh yeah, it’s good all year long, but it runs screaming through summer. It’s nasty hot, isn’t it? So it’s time to think about cool things, like this sauce. This is great sauce to serve with
Caesar salad is such a classic, that it is very difficult to improve on that classic. And you absolutely can, and should make the dressing from scratch in the classic mayonnaise style. But, every now and then, it’s good to have this little recipe in your apron pocket.
I had fresh garlic scapes, so I thought before I froze some, I’d make garlic butter. You know it’s just good to have some scapes in freezer, you know. So you can make this all year long. Anyway, I was feeling the need for garlic bread. Turns out, adding scapes to regular garlic butter, was a good choice. Great on bread and on a steak…heaven!
This is perhaps one of The Goddess’s favorite recipes. She could live on this. Originally she marinated whole chickens, then she grilled them over indirect heat. It doesn’t get much better than that.
I went to the Polish deli last week and came away with some great kielbasa. This is the creation that came from that adventure. The dill pickles are the key. They offer flavor, texture and well, they’re dill pickles. They’re the perfect foil for all the other flavors.
This is probably the perfect summer appetizer. Okay, so it’s really good anytime of the year. But, just in case you’ve been living in a cage, it’s officially summer, so we’re going to be making these lovelies. We’re going to be making these a lot. So you’re on notice.
If you like fruity, boozy, but not too sweet summer drinks, you’ll like this a lot. You might even love it! Word of caution—drink this s-l-o-w-l-y. It can sneak up on you and don’t plan on driving!
I love and adore The Spicy Honey and The Progeny. From a culinary standpoint…I love and adore burgers. All of them. Every iteration I’ve ever eaten. This one is a favorite. It’s good rain or shine, winter or summer, for dinner or breakfast.
Burgers….MMMMM! The Goddess loves her burgers. You can keep filet mignon (except for the Bordelaise sauce) or NY strip (except for the béarnaise sauce—I’m seeing a theme here!), but don’t take away her burgers. She bites the hand that does that. But, this is about the sauce. Just as it should be.
