September is National Papaya Month. I just found this out, but you all probably knew that. Who decides this sort of thing, I wonder? Corn cakes are a nice change of pace and a really wonderful option to use up leftover corn-on-the-cob. Zucchini and tomato just seemed like a natural fit. And I think it was.

Burgers….MMMMM! The Goddess loves her burgers. You can keep filet mignon (except for the Bordelaise sauce) or NY strip (except for the béarnaise sauce—I’m seeing a theme here!), but don’t take away her burgers. She bites the hand that does that. But, this is about the sauce. Just as it should be.
This is a nice little salad to have in your repertoire. It is the perfect summer salad, but joy of joys, since good cucumbers, a.k.a. English cucumbers are available year round, it’s a non-seasonal salad or side. It packs a nice kick of heat and garlic…Vampires beware!

This was supper today. This is pure comfort. It’s been a long day, I was tired and I had leftover garlic rice, a nice, plump ripe avocado, eggs and onion and these flavors are crazy good together. This is a great breakfast and dish, too. MMMmmmm….
