May at White Flower FarmsWhite Flower Farm near Litchfield, CT, had their Tomato Event.  It was a beautiful day, spent communing with nature and the truly beautiful, The Orchid Mother.  They offered lunch and other goodies, so we dined al fresco on Fried Green Tomato Tacos.  The tomato jam was one of the “other” goodies.  Continue reading →

I just ran across a recipe for Chicken Mole Casserole on the Food & Wine website.  And I do mean I “just” found it.  It sounded great; I liked the idea of it.  It just seemed like the perfect thing for dinner, so I made it, or rather my version of it. There are many versions of scalloped potatoes.  They seem to go well with so many things—ham, meatloaf, turkey, etc.  With heavy cream, and all that cheesy, creamy goodness and the crispy crust, they are an indulgence worth every calorie!  But they’re orange, you say…Surprise!!!  These are scalloped sweet potatoes.  Continue reading →
