Roasted Caulflower with Bleu Cheese and Buffalo SauceBuffalo-Flavored Cauliflower with Bleu Cheese…why didn’t I think of this before?  As you know, The Goddes is trying to divest her fridge of its belongings, and there was this bottle of Frank’s® Hot Sauce that’s been lurking, hiding behind the jars of capers, olives and pickles, right there on the door.  And sitting right there on the shelf was a piece of bleu cheese…you see where she’s going here, right?  Continue reading →

A cast iron skillet, pizza dough, toppings, a jug of wine and thou!  I made this for lunch in under 10 minutes…I had to prepare the toppings, you know.  Pizza done this way is so simple, and you get a nice crispy crust without heating up the whole house or BBQ-ing in 100ºF heat.   Continue reading →

Caramelized Onion and Dried Fruit "Jam"Caramelized onions are for more than French onion soup, which is good…in fact very good, but add dried fruit, in this case mission figs, cranberries, some ruby port and other nice things, to those onions and you’ve created The Little Condiment that Could make dirt taste good!  Since The Goddess has been on a bleu cheese kick recently (we’ll save dirt for another time, okay?), she decided this “jam” was just what she needed for a grilled bleu cheese sandwich.  Life is STILL good.  Continue reading →

I have a confession.  I’ve never been that big a fan of buffalo chicken wings.  I don’t know why, but I was always more interested in the celery and bleu cheese dressing.  I love bleu cheese; I’m weird that way.  With Super Bowl looming on the not-too-distant horizon, I got to thinking about other possibilities and this is what I came up with…Buffalo Chicken Sauce on Pasta.  Continue reading →

Midwestern Cauliflower-Cheddar Soup…with a Twist!

There are as many versions of cheese soups as there are brands of beer…well maybe not quite THAT many versions.  This version uses a lager/apple cider reduction, potato and cauliflower as part of the ingredients.  It’s yummy and creamy, like it should be, but there isn’t as much added heavy cream (or no cream at all, if you so choose), therefore we cut some calories, still have the creaminess we adore and add lovely flavors, too.  Continue reading →
