Boeuf Borguignon is THE quintessential beef stew.  And Julia Child’s is the best.  I’ve been making a version of this for decades and it’s never failed me.  Don’t let the list of ingredients spook you.  The Goddess has changed a few things, and nothing seems to have suffered for it.  Continue reading →

Spicy Mussel Chowder with Fennel and Orange Zest

Sweet Potato-Black Bean Salad with Lime-Smoked Paprika Vinaigrette

This salad is good at any time of the year.  It is a great summer salad, as no mayo, but it also is lovely in the autumn, when the leaves turn about the same color as the salad.  Make it the day ahead and chill it overnight.  But, it’s best eaten at room temperature.  Add some red chile flakes for a little heat, when the thermometer dips.  Continue reading →
