As you know, The Goddess loves fruit with savory things. The spices are the “warm” spices—allspice, coriander, smoked paprika. And nectarines. There isn’t much that’s better than a juicy, ripe nectarine, eaten out of hand, with the juices running down your chin. God, I need a cigarette, just thinking about it. Remember back when I posted
It’s stone fruit season…you know the fruits that have a single pit (seed) in the center of the fruit? All the various, and there are quite a number, of varieties of apricots, peaches, plums, and nectarines, are stone fruits. And this time of year, there’s nothing better than biting into a perfectly ripe peach or nectarine, except maybe biting into a nice piece of pie!
Rum Pot is such a nice gift to give yourself for Christmas. It’s an even better gift to give to your holiday guests. The fruit is wonderful served with ice cream, over pound cake or bread pudding or in a bowl with a spoon…just as long as you’re not driving! Then there’s the liqueur. But, you need to start a Rum Pot in the summer.
