The Spicy Honey has an office BBQ and thought it would be a good idea for The Goddess to “whip up” dessert. He’s thoughtful that way. But, The Goddess doesn’t mind, because dessert is good, and this is particularly good. It’s rich, creamy and just delicious, so isn’t that just the perfect thing to have at a BBQ? Continue reading
The Goddess loves this time of year, when the frost is on the pumpkin, the leaves are a riot of color and there’s just a slight chill in the air. It’s soup weather. It’s stew and chili weather. And it’s time to make pumpkin bread!
The Goddess loves creamed spinach, but for some reason, she doesn’t make it too frequently. It’s particularly nice with steak, don’t you think? Well, she was serving steak with Bleu Cheese Butter and Mocha-Merlot Sauce with Shallots. So, creamed spinach seemed like a good idea…but then…
I purchased some lacinato kale the other day. I know. I know. I’ve ranted about how tired I am of kale in everything, but chocolate pudding. And I am tired of it, but I’m a puzzle. Okay? I do enjoy sautéed greens every now and then.
I really do so enjoy imitation crab meat. I know it’s not crab meat. I just like it. It’s never fishy when it’s heated. It has a nice consistency, it’s easy to work with and it just tastes so good. And it was really good in these patties.

This is a wonderfully crispy, nutty crust, juxtaposed against the creaminess of the fish fillet. The flavors play off of each other, bring cohesion to the dish, but still offer up a delightful textural quality. According to The Spicy Honey, it’s a keeper recipe.
Marcella Hazan was to Italian cuisine, what Julia Child was to American gastronomy. They were both geniuses. Both were practical, too. They reveled in peasant food, and the clear flavors of simple ingredients. This is based Marcella’s simple, tomato sauce…with a couple of small changes, of course!
It’s almost summer, and a New England Shrimp Boil might just be on your menu. And you must have butter with that. Clarified butter, to be certain. This is clarified butter, but with some damn fine additions.
This is a gluten-free cake and if I didn’t tell you that, I doubt if you would realize it. It is delicious, moist and just slightly dense, but in a good way. This is from the King Arthur Flour™ website, with just a couple of minor additions…citrus zest!!!
