Salmon with Greek FlavorsI’ve been thinking about Greek flavors recently.  Who knows why?  Maybe it’s the warm weather.  Those flavors—oregano, lemon, garlic, just seem so say, “Summer is here”.  And salmon is the perfect foil for these flavors. Continue reading →

Cumin-Garlic-Lime Chicken with HoneyThis is perhaps one of The Goddess’s favorite recipes.  She could live on this.  Originally she marinated whole chickens, then she grilled them over indirect heat.  It doesn’t get much better than that.  Continue reading →

Sichuan Cucumber SaladThis is a nice little salad to have in your repertoire.  It is the perfect summer salad, but joy of joys, since good cucumbers, a.k.a. Dijon-Tarragon VinaigretteKayJay, the love of The Eldest One’s life, is a treasure.  And on top of that, she makes some of the best salads you will ever care to eat.  They are works of art, I tell ‘ya, and this one is no different.  The salad is excellent, but the Dijon-Tarragon Vinaigrette is spectacularly good. I just ran across a recipe for Chicken Mole Casserole on the Food & Wine website.  And I do mean I “just” found it.  It sounded great; I liked the idea of it.  It just seemed like the perfect thing for dinner, so I made it, or rather my version of it. And it was on the table in 20 minutes!  What a great weeknight or Friday-night-after-work-instead-of-pizza dinner!  Continue reading →

I just saw an article on the Epicurious website about spicy honey.  Sweet and heat are spectacular together.  Some things are just meant to be…like Fred and Ginger, salt and pepper, beer and pizza (a holdover from college, I think) to name a few.  Continue reading →

Citrus-Lime Marinated Grilled Chicken BreastsThis is a great marinade.  It is rather naturally Latin by ingredients and works great with chicken breasts.  It marries frozen orange juice concentrate, lime juice, with some garlic, herbs and spices.  But, there’s a secret ingredient….  Continue reading →
