Crêpes are wonderfully flexible, but not eaten nearly enough. They seem to have become passé. They’re no longer as exotic or sexy, as they once were. And, it’s a damn shame, I tell you. So let’s bring them back. Continue reading

It IS all about the sauce. And this is the perfect sauce for pork chops or tenderloin. It’s one of those make-in-the-pan-you-cooked-the-pork-in-sauces. It’s quick and easy to prepare and the pan drippings make a perfect base.
Parsnips are one of the things I always look forward to when autumn rolls around. Beef Barley Soup just isn’t as good without a parsnip. Neither is a good beef stew. I know it’s spring and it’s the end of the parsnip season, but think of these little discs of goodness as the last parsnip hurrah!

The Goddess does so love creamed spinach…maybe it’s that “Green Goddess” thing. Who knows, but love it, she does (that sounded eerily like Yoda…hmmm). Brown butter is lovely with fish. It’s rich and nutty and just plain wonderful. So this fish encompasses many favorites, it doesn’t take long to prepare and bake, either. And it looks mahhhvelous!
I’ve been thinking about Greek flavors recently. Who knows why? Maybe it’s the warm weather. Those flavors—oregano, lemon, garlic, just seem so say, “Summer is here”. And salmon is the perfect foil for these flavors.

This is a great little appetizer to whip up at a moment’s notice. Smear it on a bland, buttery cracker, and you think it’s perfect. But stuffed into one of the little sweet-hot round peppers that you can find on the olive bar…you know the ones, it’s stupendous.
KayJay, the love of The Eldest One’s life, is a treasure. And on top of that, she makes some of the best salads you will ever care to eat. They are works of art, I tell ‘ya, and this one is no different. The salad is excellent, but the Dijon-Tarragon Vinaigrette is spectacularly good.
This is The Goddess’s first posting from rainy South Florida, and what better meal than red snapper and shrimp with a great sauce? (Did I mention, it’s all about the sauce? I did…oh, okay!) I had forgotten how often it rains here, but that did not dampen our dinner, the first one together in our little furnished apartment…it’s like we’re newlyweds again!
