I love and adore The Spicy Honey and The Progeny. From a culinary standpoint…I love and adore burgers. All of them. Every iteration I’ve ever eaten. This one is a favorite. It’s good rain or shine, winter or summer, for dinner or breakfast. Continue reading
I couldn’t wait to post this. It was too good not to share. You’ve heard The Goddess go on ad nauseam about how she adores, loves, is crazy about, etc. leftovers. It does get a tad stale, doesn’t it? I know I was damned tired of hearing about it. Then, she made this pizza, which uses leftovers she had from the weekend.
Fennel and fish are terrific together. The sweetness that develops when you sauté fennel is a beautiful thing. And it just works so well with fish…this one is a corvina fillet. The Goddess just had to add a bit of orange zest; you know how she is.
The Goddess loves onions (and all of the lily family, including the flowers!). She uses them with complete abandon. A hamburger is not to be eaten without onion. Several thin slices of raw red or Vidalia onion, is hamburger heaven for her and The Spicy Honey.

Ah, leftovers…The Goddess loves leftovers. I think she’s mentioned that before, you know, twenty or thirty times, at least. Here,
These Holiday Mashed Potatoes are the bomb! They are the perfect foil for a beautiful prime rib or any roast, for that matter. You can follow the recipe for
Cuban Chicken Pie is totally different from what we non-Cubans think of as chicken pie…there’s no cream, no carrots and celery and the crust is totally different, more cake-like, than short and flaky. This is for The Honorary Gal-Pal and did I mention that it’s delicioso?
The Goddess loves Brussels Sprouts…they’re mini heads of cabbage for goodness sake. Who wouldn’t love them? This is a version of the soup I make in the autumn and winter months, but it is perfect for an after Thanksgiving meal. It’s filling without being too heavy, it will warm you to your soul…
