Chicken Enchilada Crêpes with Cilantro-Lime Cream SauceThis is a savory option for our crêpes.  It’s pretty much a chicken enchilada, but with crêpes, duh.  The sauce is lovely and loaded with flavor.  Even though it has heavy cream, using broth lightens the sauce.  Continue reading →

Creamy Horseradish-Mustard SauceI thought I’d posted this already, but I guess I overlooked it…and that’s bad.  Really bad.  Because this is spectacularly good with Corned Beef with Beer Gravy and it’s that time of year.  When The Progeny are around the table, I have to make huge quantities, because it truly is…all…about…this…sauce!  Continue reading →

Creamy Horseradish, Roasted Garlic and Honey SauceIt’s all about the sauce.  It really is.  But, you already know this.  A sauce can make the ordinary, a truly extraordinary culinary experience.  So, we’re going to talk about sauces over the next little while.  Let’s go…. Continue reading →

Cornbread for StuffingThis is a more substantial cornbread than the Sour Cream Cornbread I posted a while back.  That version is my favorite for serving as a side, slathered with butter and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.  But this version holds up better for stuffing (or dressing).   Continue reading →

119I think it’s fair to say that most of us don’t think, “zucchini and chocolate…MMMMM.  Now there’s a combination made in heaven!”  I know I didn’t.  But guess what?  You should absolutely think good and happy thoughts about that combination, because this is an absolutely delicious cake.  Continue reading →

016Compound butter, which simply put, is butter with stuff added to it.  The great thing about them, is they can and should be made ahead, chilled and/or frozen, so you have them on hand.  The Goddess is all about having things on hand to work with and make her life easier.  These little nuggets of saucy goodness offer huge flavor and versatility.  It’s simplicity at its very best.  Continue reading →
