Hot Pepper Jelly (with a Tropical Twist)I always like to have a few jars of Hot Pepper Jelly on hand, particularly during the holiday season.  Hot Pepper Jelly is always an appreciated hostess gift.  It’s so versatile.  I love to have a bit on a cheese tray, perfect with a leg of lamb, or on a grilled cheese sandwich.  It’s a really nice glaze for chicken or pork, too.  Are you getting the impression this is a versatile sauce to have in your pantry?  You would be right…. Rumtopf in the MakingRum Pot is such a nice gift to give yourself for Christmas.  It’s an even better gift to give to your holiday guests.  The fruit is wonderful served with ice cream, over pound cake or bread pudding or in a bowl with a spoon…just as long as you’re not driving!  Then there’s the liqueur.  But, you need to start a Rum Pot in the summer.  Continue reading →

Tomato-Corn ChowderI just made this for dinner tonight.  The Spicy Honey loves tomato soup, but he usually prefers the kind in the can.  However, he does enjoy this one.  This is an incredibly simple and delicious soup.  With summer on the horizon, this seems to work, even when the heat creeps into our bones.  Continue reading →
