I received a jar of delicious mixed nuts for my birthday. The Unbound Reader and Middle Son, we the source of this goodness. These nuts (not the children!) were addictive. I’m certain you noticed that past tense reference. They were crisp, ever so slightly sweet and salty, with a really savory spice flavor. Well, I thought it worthwhile to try and reproduce them in far greater quantity. This is that experiment. Continue reading

This is one of THOSE sauces. The one you keep returning to. The one you keep tweaking until it’s perfect, and then you tweak it again. And no matter what, it is spectacularly delicious.
I love spicy. I love The Spicy Honey, too…but that’s different. I love sweet and sour. I love shrimp. I love cashews. Okay, you get it…I really love this flavor combination, and I think you might, too. And it’s just in time for the Asian New Year…January 25th, this year…the year of the Rat!

These are just so delicious and deliciously easy. They are slightly unusual, in so much that they have decidedly tropical flavors. Guava is sweet, but with a nice little tang that works really well with sweet potatoes.
Banana Bread is delicious, but it’s particularly delicious with toasted nuts and chocolate. This one’s boozed up, even though I may have this for breakfast. Toasted with butter….MMMMM!
