This General Tso’s chicken is different, not the usual take-out variety. First, the chicken isn’t diced, but left in pieces and then roasted. Secondly, this really combines General Tso’s sauce with some orange zest and juice, creating the best of both worlds, General Tso’s and Orange chicken. Both of The Goddess’s favorites, rolled into one lovely dish. Continue reading
This is a nice little change of pace from
This is a nice little loaf to have in your fridge. It makes a nice sandwich, a lovely addition to a charcuterie with some cornichons or for a light lunch or supper with some good mustard.
This is so summery and delicious. It’s perfect with grilled chicken or fish, spooned over ice cream (I’m not kidding!), alongside some scrambled eggs…well, you get the point.
Eggs are a part of our culinary life-blood. They are the perfect food. Eggs were the first food of The Progeny and they continue to be a favorite. The Spicy Honey loves a fried egg sandwich and he loves this one. It has a crispy cheese collar. What’s not to love?
The Eldest Progeny loves General Tso’s. Make no mistake here…we all love it. But, he can be pretty passionate about it. It’s sort of a benchmark for him, when he considers the quality of a Chinese restaurant. We’ll see what he thinks about this version, which isn’t deep-fried and is a bit lighter, but loaded with flavor.
In my recipe box, this is called “Southern Confetti Salad”. And it does look like confetti, doesn’t it? But, that doesn’t really tell us much about this salad. It is a great option for a summer picnic salad, as it’s both easy and can sit out for a bit. But, it’s just as good in the dead of winter, with two feet of snow on the ground. Did I mention that it’s also delicious?
This is a great little appetizer to whip up at a moment’s notice. Smear it on a bland, buttery cracker, and you think it’s perfect. But stuffed into one of the little sweet-hot round peppers that you can find on the olive bar…you know the ones, it’s stupendous.
