This version of Korma is not traditional. I’ve added eggplant and lemon zest. Feel free to omit both, but hand-to-heart, it won’t be as tasty…and at the Goddess’s abode, we’re all about tasty! This Korma has particularly good Karma.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for a good bean salad. I ran across a recipe for a bean salad, using garbanzos. I like garbanzo beans, but I prefer kidney beans for a salad. They’re a bit softer and they’re just prettier…and you know, it’s all about how it looks!
I’ve been thinking about Indian food recently. Obsessing really. This is what usually sends me off on a recipe search. Picture The Goddess, crawling in camo through her jungle of cookbooks and the Inter”Webs”, in search of ideas. That’s an image, isn’t it? In this case, there wasn’t really a search. It just sort of came together, and I had leftover shrimp and lobster…see how that works?
The English-speaking Caribbean offers us some wonderfully complex flavors. Jerk Chicken is one of the dishes that’s synonymous with the islands. It’s has a nice kick of heat, is highly spiced and delicious. Thus, making it the perfect summer grilling dinner. You and your guests will love it.
The Goddess absolutely adores condiments. At any given time, her fridge is bursting at the seams with such wonders. Relishes, chutneys, preserves, and pickles add something truly wonderful to sandwiches, a charcuterie platter, toast, meats or simply eat it with a spoon.
‘Tis the time of year for pies and tarts. Autumn…mmmmm! Such good, rich flavors and pears and apples are always a big part of that. Apple pie is a favorite of the men in The Goddess’s life, but she’s sort of partial to a combination of pears and apples.
