I’ve been meaning to make pide (in case you’re wondering, it’s pronounced “PEE-day”) for quite some time.  This is street food, at its very best.  And this dough?  It is positively fabulous and wonderful to work with.  I’ve given you a couple of filling options, and then some!  Continue reading →

This version of Korma is not traditional.  I’ve added eggplant and lemon zest.  Feel free to omit both, but hand-to-heart, it won’t be as tasty…and at the Goddess’s abode, we’re all about tasty!  This Korma has particularly good Karma. Continue reading →

One Layer Chocolate-Cherry CakeThe Goddess likes cake.  Yes, she does.  She doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, but chocolate cake is so good for breakfast.  This recipe is a riff on that old Peg Bracken cake from her “I Hate to Cook” cookbook.  In her recipe, you mix the cake right in the pan you’re going to bake it in.  It was a drop-dead easy recipe and had such a good flavor, so naturally The Goddess tossed in some bing cherries…naturally.  Continue reading →

I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for a good bean salad.  I ran across a recipe for a bean salad, using garbanzos.  I like garbanzo beans, but I prefer kidney beans for  a salad.  They’re a bit softer and they’re just prettier…and you know, it’s all about how it looks!  Continue reading →

The Goddess's Dilly Ranch Salad Dressing and DipAre we tired of Ranch Dressing yet?  Come on…you know we all love it.  Don’t we?  I’ve made Ranch for years, many times using the dry packet and embellishing it with more dill.  The Goddess loves her dill.  So why not make it from scratch?  This is where we’ve ended up…for the moment, anyway.  It’s terrific drizzled over a nice piece of salmon, on a baked potato, a shingle or on slices of garden tomatoes.  Continue reading →
