This is a summery chowder, when the corn is fresh and delicious and the shrimp are running. The bacon and scallions are just the icing on the cake…so to speak. Continue reading
Seven Layer Dip has been around for years, and with good reason. It’s delicious. It’s easy and it’s delicious. It goes together in a flash and it’s delicious…are you seeing a pattern here? But, seven layers is just a tad too limiting for The Goddess….
You know how The Goddess loves potato salads of all kinds. She’s given you
We visited Han Restaurant again. Those Hot Pots are addictive, I tell ya’. Well, we had some of the broth leftover and you know how The Goddess loves her leftovers. We decided to “re-purpose” it a bit, so we made a fish stew.
Panzanella or Fattoush? That is the question. In reality, they are pretty much the same salad…and yet, not. That makes no sense, does it? At their roots, they are both bread salads, with good veggies tossed in. But it is all about the bread or the pita, and with this version, you don’t have to choose between the two…Fattoush-azella!
You’ve heard about Texas Caviar, Cowboy Caviar, Bean Dip or whatever, right? You probably make it or at the very least, have eaten it. This isn’t exactly that…it’s really a riff on my mother’s Three Bean Salad and we could consider it “friends” with my
These eggs are quick to prepare and delicious…just what you need when you’ve over-imbibed…or just ‘cuz they’re damn delicious. So, order another sangria! Or not…these are a great breakfast, no matter what your condition.
This is a savory option for our crêpes. It’s pretty much a chicken enchilada, but with crêpes, duh. The sauce is lovely and loaded with flavor. Even though it has heavy cream, using broth lightens the sauce.
Parsnips are one of the things I always look forward to when autumn rolls around. Beef Barley Soup just isn’t as good without a parsnip. Neither is a good beef stew. I know it’s spring and it’s the end of the parsnip season, but think of these little discs of goodness as the last parsnip hurrah!
The Goddess does so love creamed spinach…maybe it’s that “Green Goddess” thing. Who knows, but love it, she does (that sounded eerily like Yoda…hmmm). Brown butter is lovely with fish. It’s rich and nutty and just plain wonderful. So this fish encompasses many favorites, it doesn’t take long to prepare and bake, either. And it looks mahhhvelous!
