The Goddess has never met a potato she doesn’t like…you too? And mashed potatoes offer the most amazing amount of comfort to her. I think they do to many people. If you’re a purest, then take a look at
Floating Islands? Seriously…what has happened to The Goddess? Has she been into the Rosé to excess? Or was she out in the sun too long? Everyone knows that “floating islands” is a dessert. Yes. That’s true. Normally, it is. But, as you know there’s nothing normal about The Goddess!
Boeuf Borguignon is THE quintessential beef stew. And Julia Child’s is the best. I’ve been making a version of this for decades and it’s never failed me. Don’t let the list of ingredients spook you. The Goddess has changed a few things, and nothing seems to have suffered for it.
This is a slightly fruity version of cornbread dressing, but with savory flavors dancing around in the back. Cornbread and apple compliment each other, then throw in the bacon and cheese that temper the sweetness and add a lovely savory aspect.
Gravy is a thing of beauty. It can turn a pretty ordinary piece of meat or potato into a blessed event. Remember, it’s all about the sauce!
You know I adore eggplant. I don’t think I’ve ever met an eggplant dish I didn’t love. I’ve been thinking about stuffed eggplant, so I decided that today was the day. I was heading down the vegetarian path, adding lentils to give us that meaty texture. Then, I took another path….
