When the weather cools…okay becomes damn cold, there’s nothing quite like a bowl of soup or chowder. This is a simple combination of leeks, salmon, fennel and three kinds of potatoes. Chowder, without heaps of freshly ground black pepper, just doesn’t cut it on The Goddess’s table…. Continue reading
‘Tis the time of year, and as you know, The Goddess loves her cranberry sauce. She loves homemade cranberry sauce. She loves the stuff in the cans, too. She’s been pining for cranberry sauce for months, so she began by making a double batch. Hey, cranberries are only around for a short time, but cranberry sauce can be forever! Well, almost….
At our house, rice pudding is a HUGE comfort food. Right up there with tapioca pudding, but that’s another post. And then, there’s pumpkin pie, all spicy and creamy. The Middle Son and The Unbound Reader are visiting for a couple of days. We went out for pizza last night and we all love leftover pizza for breakfast. So, naturally you order a large pizza. There must be leftovers, but we’ve never had it like this before.
Just recently it was Key West shrimp season in South Florida. These little beauties have an incredible flavor and texture. And the bonus, they come the way they were created, with the head-on, feelers included! They are just too fun, don’t you think?
