These are not potato skins. Not the way we know them. These are potato peelings, but they deep-fry up to a nicely crisp, slightly chewy chip. And what makes them so exceptional, is that they’re fried in olive oil! And they’re served with Garlic Aïoli…oh, yes! Continue reading

I like lentils. Actually, as far as legumes go, I think lentils may be my favorite. The Latin Lover is, shall we say, less fond of them. A bad childhood memory. But I’m trying to convert him. It’s always good to eradicate a bad childhood food memory and create a new, all-gown-up food memory! I think this soup may have done it!
The Goddess was thinking about pizza for dinner or maybe a burger, but it was raining most convincingly. We’re talking monsoon, get-out-the-hip-waders! This was ark-building-type of downpour!…and this is the dry season in Florida…thank Goddess there’s no global warming…or the weather might be totally crazy! But, I digress.

I was thinking about making sushi, but just didn’t get myself organized enough to manage that. This is sushi, but “unrolled” or deconstructed—layers of flavor. This is fork food. Chopsticks won’t work too well here, but the flavors are deliciously sushi.
The weather outside is frightful! Chili is just this thing to take a bite out of the cold. I know we’ve explored
I was going to call this Autumn Hummus, but really, what does that tell you? Nada! The pumpkin and roasted peppers are there, but they are subtle. Not front flavors at all. And it’s very festive-looking.
Pears and bleu cheese have a natural affinity for each other. They are a perfect pair (pun intended!), so to speak. But, you might be rather surprised to learn that they’re also up for a threesome, with that sexy minx, cauliflower.
Sweet potatoes or yams, I honestly don’t really know the difference. I know there is a difference. But, if you mash ’em up with some bourbon, top ’em with bacon and pecans and a good drizzle of maple syrup…well then, I don’t think it matters one bit.
