Spicy Peanut Noodles are great for summer, though the ingredients transcend seasons. They can be a side dish or the main course, depending on what you add. These are so much more than just noodles and I always serve them when we celebrate the Asian New Year. Continue reading
Fish curries don’t seem to be as popular as chicken, lamb or vegetable curries. It’s too bad, because fish curries are really good. This curry uses both fish and shrimp, which work very well together…friendly creatures of the sea, swimming together in a nice tomato-based curry sauce.
This is a quick-fix dinner for Cinco de Mayo. If you have leftover chicken from Sunday dinner, like the
The Spicy Honey loves, loves, loves Bolognese sauce. And admittedly, I’ve never been particularly happy with my previous attempts. They were just ho-hum. This one…I’m very happy with, and I think you might be, too!
Tarragon is a lovely herb. The French use it extensively. We should use it more. It has a delicate, grassy flavor with a distinct licorice kick. Chicken with Tarragon-Shallot Cream Sauce…a match made in heaven.
This was a quick-fix if you happened to bring home some char siu pork or (Chinese BBQ pork) from the Asian market. And you really should do that. It’s good stuff and good to have on hand, if for no other reason than to make this wrap. It was deeeeeeeeeeelicious!

It turns out we have the same one, kindred spirits that we are! Anyway, she, and her Dear One, served us a version of this wonderful, rib-sticking, winter-chasing bean soup. It was supremely delicious, The Spicy Honey loved it and so I decided to see if I can come close to repeating her soup.
You know I adore eggplant. I don’t think I’ve ever met an eggplant dish I didn’t love. I’ve been thinking about stuffed eggplant, so I decided that today was the day. I was heading down the vegetarian path, adding lentils to give us that meaty texture. Then, I took another path….
Caramelized onions….mmmmm…a little sweet, a little sour, and just plain yummy. The apple butter, with its hint of cinnamon, the saltiness of the feta and the crispness of the bacon juxtaposed against the creaminess of the caramelized onions, makes for a perfect “storm” of flavor!
