I love fritters. They’re a great way to use veggies. They’re a great way to use up leftover veggies and they’re fried. And anything fried is just better. Face it. It’s true. You know it’s true. Continue reading
You know how The Goddess loves potato salads of all kinds. She’s given you
I just made this for dinner tonight. The Spicy Honey loves tomato soup, but he usually prefers the kind in the can. However, he does enjoy this one. This is an incredibly simple and delicious soup. With summer on the horizon, this seems to work, even when the heat creeps into our bones.
The Spicy Honey loves his mushroom soup. Usually, he’s happy with the canned stuff, but this is so simple to make; it is really soooooo delicious. I thought I probably should share the recipe. Because, you need to make this.
Who doesn’t love a good cheeseburger? And nice, crispy fries? So, The Goddess was thinking this might just work in a casserole. You know how she’s into these one-dish or skillet dinners. Many time when she thinks something will work, it doesn’t work as well as it does in her mind’s-eye. But, this turned out to be incredibly, almost indecently, tasty.
Parsnips are one of the things I always look forward to when autumn rolls around. Beef Barley Soup just isn’t as good without a parsnip. Neither is a good beef stew. I know it’s spring and it’s the end of the parsnip season, but think of these little discs of goodness as the last parsnip hurrah!
Think schnitzel, with Asian flavors. Why not? It’s crispy. It’s complex. It’s delicious. Did I mention that it’s best marinated ahead of time, so there’s minimal last minute prep? Now, I have your attention….
This was fantastic fried chicken. Not only does this taste fantastic, but you can use up leftover pickle juice. Yeah, I know. Most people simply pour it down the sink, but The Goddess hates waste, so this was the perfect solution. And it brings back a wonderful childhood memory…my mother’s fried chicken.
I had a soft-shelled crab sandwich for breakfast. Isn’t that a terrific way to begin the day? It was truly delicious; I’m still thinking about it. I think I’ve mentioned this coating before, but I don’t think I’ve posted it for you. So here it is—the perfect “dredge”.
Hurray! It’s soft-shelled crab time! They are back in season. Soft-shells are only around for a couple of weeks, so get some and enjoy them now. Keep it simple, with a light breading and a nice big drizzle of great Meyer Lemon-Brown Butter Sauce….mmmmmmmm…life is great!
